Chemistry Reuse:
A 1-liter bottle of Df96 can process 16+ rolls of film. Simply recombine used chemistry and add +15sec. for each roll previously processed until you reach 8 min. Once opened, it should be used within 2 months. Film will still finish processing as chemicals age but will eventually produce thin negatives when developer is exhausted.
Exhaustion Indication:
As Df96 exhausts it will start to yellow and turn dark amber when fully exhausted. If you are unsure whether your Df96 is still capable of processing film, perform a daylight snip test. Snip off a small piece of film that has been exposed to light (for example the film leader) and place it into a small container of Df96. Swirl the solution around for a few minutes. If the piece of film turns opaque black your Df96 is still usable. You can save the snippet to compare to future tests. If the test strip comes out thin (not opaque) you can increase temperature and retest. Retire the chemistry if test strips come out transparent.
