The Cs41 processing kits can be used to process any C-41 compatible color negative film for still imaging. ECN-2 motion picture processing is more than just a set of chemicals. It involves an entire process for making motion picture negatives compatible with motion picture print film or motion picture scanners and color grading. Remjet backed Motion picture film will contaminate C-41 chemistry and cause uneven and under processed film. CineStill 50D and 800T are made from Kodak Vision3 motion picture emulsions, but have undergone our proprietary "premoval" process which converts it to be compatible with C-41 chemistry. Developing film in ECN-2 chemistry (including the pre-bath step which acts to accelerate development), or at a lab that offers the full service, causes a thinner, flatter contrast negative ideal for the motion picture workflow. ECN-2 negatives don't make good photographs. Developing CineStill color films in C-41 chemistry as intended, yields a contrast curve that compliments printing and scanning for still imaging, making it easy to print beautiful photographs.
